Welcome to Samannay Kshetra

Samannay Kshetra is an institute of folk dance & music registered under the Societies Registration Act. The institute has been promoting and performing the various folk dance traditions of the Northeast India from 2002. The institute is successfully spreading the vibrant culture of the Northeast and Assam across India and the world.

The Samannay Kshetra was founded by Smriti Rekha Borah Saikia. The main purpose of the institute is to contribute in terms of integration of the different tribes of the North-east, and to keep the dying native folk cultures alive for as long as possible.

About Smriti Rekha Borah Saikia
Making a Difference

Smriti Rekha is a positive thinker and a hardworking professional dancer who has trained and performed her folk dance related skills all over the world for the past 14 years.

She has instituted Samannay Kshetra to promote and preserve the multi-ethnic folk dance traditions representing all eight Northeastern states primarily Assam.

She and her troupe of dancers have performed over 5000 programs across the country and even abroad.

Bihu Dance
